good morning children of the Lord...

hey kids. it's 6:10 in the am... and i have to go drive some echo kids to a service project in like an hour... i went to sleep like 3 hours ago... but i'm having a restless night. i'm feeling pretty good though.

i just read a blog that my friend angie fabulous wrote... it's about mediocrity and how some people settle for it in life. it really made me think about the areas in my life where i'm settling for less.

less than what God has called me to.

ouch.

and yay. ha...

there's something painful and, at the same time, wonderful about realizing that you are not done learning & growing. on the one hand, you're not perfect. & that sucks. on the other hand... there's more.

there's more to life than just this. more than what we're experiencing right now at this moment. there's more. more life. more truth. more freedom.

i feel like if we want more of what God has for us, we need to be people of intention. we need to choose DAILY to fall into the arms of God. to give Him control.

and so that's what i'm going to do today.

today it's not about what i want. period.

we'll see how tomorrow goes (:

i shall leave you with a quote.

"are the things you're living for worth Christ dying for?"

"are the things you're living for worth Christ dying for?" That's a hectic question to wake up to every day. Thanks for sharing it.

And mediocrity, it's overrated!

preach it, brother!!

oh goodie!! another blog to check out. i love it ... you know i do.

i so get that dichotomy you're talking about ... about knowing that we're not perfect yet [what?! i wish someone had told me earlier!!], but on the other hand there's more out there if we're willing & open to live in pursuit of that more-ness.

[i love adding -ness to the end of the odd word. it's fun, you might wanna try it.]

an image i keep coming back to in my own mind is this [and you'll hear me say this when you get to hear the interview with christianne & me]: i'm standing on the edge of a precipice with this whole grand landscape before me, but God has His hand over my eyes. the fullness of our lives is before us, & we need to pursue that, live in such a way that embraces that. i think it must break God's heart when people settle for the ho-hum mundane life when God wants to give us all these amazing things, wants to do all these amazing things for us [hello, miracle guitar-player!!] & through us.

good thoughts. hope you had a fab day.

love,
k

Amen brother! (I mean son)

Most of the time it's about priorities and perspective. To the degree we sell out (i mean that in a good sense) will determine what we get out. Your job, relationships, name the subject.

It's the enemies job to get us to settle for getting by. The end result is rather predictable.

But when we're passionate . . . look out! The possibilities are only limited by us.

Ok I'm getting to preachy. Thanks for the inspiration.

Go get em' kiddo
